Prior Experience
Michael began his professional career at O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he became a partner in 1980. His legal practice focused principally on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate work, international transactions, and the representation of private equity firms, investment advisors and mutual fund independent directors.
Education
Michael earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Utah Law School, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Utah Law Review.
Outside of Work
Michael’s community involvement has included service on the governing board of the Greater Los Angeles Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Board of Visitors of the J. Rueben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Michael speaks fluent French and is an enthusiastic tennis player, traveler, recreational bike rider and amateur photographer. He and his wife preside over a blended family of seven children and 25 grandchildren.
