Prior Experience
Jeff began his legal career as a clerk to the Hon. Sandra Ikuta of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Following his clerkship, Jeff transitioned to private practice at O’Melveny & Myers, LLP, where he was an associate in the corporate group. Later, he became a partner at Payne & Fears, LLP, where his practice focused on commercial litigation. Prior to joining SEP, Jeff was senior vice president and associate general counsel at Pathway Capital Management, LP, a global private equity asset manager.
Education
Jeff graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and was named the department valedictorian. He later earned a law degree from Stanford Law School, where he graduated with distinction, served on the Stanford Law Review, and received the Hilmer Oehlmann, Jr. Prize. Jeff is also a CFA charterholder.
Outside of Work
In his spare time, Jeff likes to exercise, ski, travel, and follow politics. Jeff and his wife have three children, two boys and one girl.
