Prior Experience
Tobin has worn several hats prior to joining Seidler, including corporate business development, management consulting with Bain & Company, and as a business operator. After college, Tobin joined General Electric’s Information Systems Management Program and completed stints in GE’s Corporate Audit and Business Development groups.
Tobin helped lead the growth of a small marketing business, Imagitas, and later joined Tomah Products (a specialty chemical manufacturer that later became a SEP partner company) as its Chief Operating Officer. After the sale of Tomah to Air Products, Tobin joined Tomah’s Chairman, Steve King, in founding King Capital, a family office where Tobin served as Managing Director.
Tobin’s experience has spanned multiple industries including consumer goods, specialty chemicals, automotive, music publishing, food and ingredients, building and design products, and various other industries. He has worked with clients and partner companies in Europe, Asia, South Africa, and Latin America over his career.
Education
Tobin graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Economics and Computer Applications. He later earned a Masters of Business Administration at Harvard University where he received the HBS Service Award.
Outside of Work
Tobin is involved in a variety of local community organizations, including performing arts, men’s homeless shelter, city development, and a junior hockey franchise. He also serves on the Board of Advisors to Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education. Tobin and his wife Oakleigh live in Janesville, Wisconsin, and have two children. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys mountain climbing, fly fishing, and endurance sports.
