Matt Seidler

Matt has more than 20 years of experience investing in and advising founder-owned and family-owned growth companies. He is involved in all investment activities in the US and shares overall leadership in the firm’s Australia office. Matt has been a trusted Board member and advisor to a dozen current and former SEP partner companies. He is particularly experienced in helping foster (and accelerate) organic and acquisition-driven growth initiatives, along with overall global expansion strategies. Matt is passionate about helping founders and CEOs “grow the pie” in a partnership-oriented manner.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining SEP in 2009, Matt spent seven years at a boutique investment bank that specialized in M&A advisory services for family-owned businesses. Having grown up in a multi-generational family business himself, Matt recognizes the importance of considering not only economic goals, but also non-economic objectives, both when entrepreneurs and their families are evaluating taking on a growth partner and when they eventually exit.

Matt graduated with a degree in Finance from The University of Notre Dame—completing his course work at both the South Bend, Indiana and Fremantle, Western Australia campuses.

Outside of Work

Matt and his wife are usually chasing around their Sheepadoodle, Utah, and their three young sons. Matt loves to snowboard, paddleboard, train, and barbecue, typically with his family and while listening to country music. Matt is also the youngest of ten children (Peter Seidler is the second and Bob Seidler is the sixth).
